Are you familiar with Habitat for Humanity? It’s the international non-profit that leverages volunteer labor to build and renovate affordable housing, and shares the results though no-profit, no-interest loans to partner families (who themselves help build homes for others).

Again this year, MakeMusic made it possible for several of our employees to participate in a local Habitat build, and in turn play a part in forever changing the lives of the family of eight that will soon move in.

Participating in a Habitat build is a great opportunity to learn some new skills and experience the joy of helping others (via piechowiak here). I’m grateful for this opportunity as well as for the reminder to be thankful for having a safe place to sleep each night.
